About
Gallery 118 started in 2022 as a Pop-Up Gallery. A group of 3 artists saw a need for a gallery in Westport, took the idea and ran with it. They had the Pop-Up Gallery open 3 weeks later. Now Gallery 118 is a collective of more than 20 local artists from all over our region including Karamea, Reefton, and Punakaiki and is open all year round.
It is run by Kawatiri Arts Collective Trust, a non-profit organisation and operated by volunteers.
The Gallery is a vibrant, ever changing space, supporting a diverse range of artists across many disciplines.
It hosts events and workshops, supporting creativity for all in the community
Mission
Our collective supports local artists by providing space for exhibitions, sales, and events. We're committed to making art accessible and fostering connections between artists and the community. We aim to create a welcoming environment where people can discover new work, engage with creativity, and participate in our local arts culture.

Vision
We envision a thriving local arts scene where artists have the support they need and community members feel connected to the creative work happening around them. Our gallery aims to be a lasting space where art and community come together.
